Running Head:ETHICAL ISSUES IN NURSING PRACTICES1Ethical Issues in Nursing PracticesGrace AlvestefferWest Shore Community College
ETHICAL ISSUES IN NURSING PRACTICES2Generally, nurses face several legal or ethical dilemmas in practice. As healthcareprofessionals, they have the duty of protection, promotion, and optimization of health(Chadwick, 2016). They should have the ability to prevent illnesses and injuries while alsoalleviating the suffering of their patients through the diagnosis and treatment of humanresponse. Nurses should also take part in advocacy for the care of individuals, families, andcommunities (Fowler, 2013). To practice competently and with integrity, these professionalsmust implement several significant factors that guide their practice. Some of these crucialelements include an accreditation process for education, a rigorous structure for certificationand licensure, and a pertinent code of ethics (Leuter et. al 2013). Therefore an individual'sresponsibility should be acted at the highest standard and must be based on legal and ethicalobligations.
