INDV101 Invented Language Project Part 2 - Basic Lexicon and Morphology 1 Invented Language Project Part 2 - Basic Lexicon and Morphology Objective: You will create a core lexicon (30 words) and a basic morphology (at least 5 mor- phological processes, specified below) for their invented language. You will build your words using the phonemic inventory and syllabification rules you proposed in part 1 of this project. Part 2 is worth a total of 50 points, and is due at the beginning of class Friday, October 5. Resources: * You must use the phonemic inventory and syllable structure restrictions you outlined in your Project Part 1 (although you may correct and amend these based on the feedback you received from your section instructor). Each word you create must be made up of well-formed syllables, according to your syllable structure rules. Your writing system must also be consistent with what you have proposed before. * You may wish to refer to the Language Construction Kit, compiled by Mark Rosenfelder (an invented language hobbyist) for models, ideas, and further explanation of this process: http://www.zompist.com/kit.html (however you may not simply duplicate content from this, or any other, site or resource!) Content and Structure: (use the template provided on d2l for project part 2): * (5 points) Your paper will begin with a brief paragraph containing the following information. The name of your invented language The ’semantic domain’ on which you will focus your wordlist, and why. For example, you may want to list words concerning animal husbandry (because your imaginary speakers raise livestock), or words concerning aviation (because your speakers are all aviators), or some such. * (20 points) You will then present a table of at least 20 ‘words’ or ‘stems’ in your language as
