Brianna AkuScholarship Essay High School StudentWhy I Love NigeriaI am Brianna Aku, the daughter of two proud, Nigerian parents. Since I was a child, my parents have instilled in me the pride of being a Nigerian. Throughout my life I have learned what being a Nigerian is really about. It is about being an assiduous worker, being able to express ourselves through different forms of art that reflects our love for tradition and culture, and uniting together to create an impact that will reshape an uncountable number of lives. To begin with, Nigerians are naturally hard workers, it’s in our blood. We have been this way for many generations. In fact, according to Africacheck.org 75.9% of Nigerians work full time jobs. Many of those jobs include trade, nursing, engineering, and agriculture. Agriculture alone takes up 42% of the jobs reported by Everyculture.com. We, as a people will stop at nothing to feed our families.
