King Arthur King Arthur is tall. He has broad shoulders, dark brown hair, and a beard. There are lots of views about King Arthur. Sometimes he is shown as kind , wise and generous and sometimes childish, stubborn and a weak king who is unable to make wise decisions. Nennius, who was a Welsh monk of the 9th century, thought Arthur is a powerful warrior who won 12 battles and he has the ability to slay 960 men in one charge. Wace, a Norman poet , saw Arthur with leadership qualities as he established the Round Table to make sure justice and peace. An English priest, named Layamon, thinks that Arthur is a grim and fierce warrior. He viewed him as an epic hero. Sometimes, Arthur is seen as a symbol of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table. He was the first to accept the Green Knight’s challenge by laying his life on the line to defend the honor of his court. Arthur was raised by Merlin because Merlin suggested he should be raised in a secret place and no one should know his true identity.
