Austin Buono Reflective Paper Through the course of this class I was able to develop many essential reading and writing strategies that will help my writing abilities in my college career. One of the biggest assets I have learned from the class was using readings assigned in class to help me understand what good writing consisted of, and then using those strategies in my papers. One of the more challenging assignments in this class was constructing a cause and effect essay. Because this type of essay was new to me, I used reading assignments to help me develop an effective and dynamic paper. One specific example of an essay that really showed how to write a proper cause and effect essay was “The Human Cost of an Illiterate Society” by Jonathon Kozol; after reading this essay I began to better understand how to properly outline the steps to write an effective paper. This essay provide a blue print for me to follow and refer back to when I felt the cause and effect essay was not being written correctly. Another skill I learned in this class was
