1AbstractThis study sought to explore the experiences of male and female students at USC as well as investigate whether individuals of different gender identities utilize resources often and their comfortability in using them. The research employed the use of surveys and personal interviews to gather data to inform the research questions. The study used 65 participants who were involved in STEM programs with the percentage of males at 26% and that of females at 74%. According to the results of the study, there was a significant difference in the experiences of maleand female students at USC with a lower percentage of women being comfortable using school resources. This was due to the inability of the school to provide enough resources for them to engage fully with the STEM programs. Additionally, there was a low engagement of male and female students with STEM organizations. However, the low scope of the research does not offera full picture of the issue and there is a need for more research into the issue to allow relevance of the topic in a broad sense.
