Operating System Proposal
I. Introduction
a. Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast Linux server and Linux
workstation OS products between three separate and distinct Linux distros. In
addition, I will also address the specific issues of total cost of ownership, training,
support, performance, reliability and application availability. Upon completion of my
research, I will present an 8-10 page paper and a Power Point presentation, delivered
through a video recording and submit it to my manager.
b. Description and Background
There are a number of Linux vendors that I have found to offer the best options for
the current business needs. Some of them require a vast knowledge of programming
in order to get the most out of them. I found that the following three vendors are the
closest to an all-in-one solution that any business should have. These 3 distributions
