Call them for assistance with the Canvas site.Class Website:Course Objective:This course introduces incoming freshmen to a successful path through college, helping themtransition from high school, take on adult responsibilities, achieve academic success, and becomeactive members within their college community.Course Description:This one credit hour course is designed to introduce freshmen to the tools and techniques thatwill enhance their transition to college and improve their academic success. Goal setting, timemanagement, faculty/peer interaction, and other academic skills applicable to success in allmajors will be addressed.Additionally, this course is a university–wide requirement forgraduation and students must make a passing grade.Students will be encouraged to establishsupportive relationships with peers, staff, and faculty to become more integrated into theacademic community.Learning Outcomes:1.I am planning my personal path in transitioning to college.2.I recognize and accept the new responsibilities of collegiate and adult life.3.I have learned about campus resources and understand how to utilize them for academicsuccess as I pursue my degree.4.I am engaged in my college community.Expectations:Attend class, on time, and remain the entire time.No cell phone use is allowed when you enter the classroom (including before the class begins).If a cell phone is needed for an emergency, please notify the instructor before class begins.Computers in the classroom may only be used to enhance classroom learning.Come to class prepared with all completed assignments, exercises, and readings.

To fully gain the advantage of the information presented, you willneed to participate in both in-class and out-of-class assignments. Attendance will be taken atthe beginning of every class. If you need to leave class early or arrive to class late, please notifythe instructor in advance.If you miss more than 15 minutes of class, you will be marked absentfor that class meeting.If you miss four classes you will automatically fail the class.Themaximum allowed absences is three, which includes absences with a written excuse.
