As the years went by, I was more fascinated with how astrology worked. I started to do some research and always read up on how all the complicated elements of astrology work. D.I am here to talk about how astrology works and how the signs can affect our lives.E.In this speech I will cover the history of astrology, your birth chart and how your signs might affect you in different ways.II.BodyA.The history of Astrology.1.Astrology as we know in western culture started out with the Greeks and the Romans.
a.When the Greeks, who lived around 300 B.C. started their mythology, they connected each planet with a god or goddess. As you have probably heard of the Greek gods, Zeus, Poseidon and Hates. According to the article titled, Astrology: Fact or Fiction,written by Michael Bakich, “The Greeks… were the first to formalizethe influence of planets and constellations of human affairs.” In his article he describes how they took a planet and the god or goddess that represented that planet, to describe human actions.b.The example Bakich uses in his article states, “Mars was the god ofwar, the significance of the planet Mars concerns war, blood, and fire. It's usually a bad sign. Because Venus was the goddess of love, the planet's influence pertains to pleasure, children, luck, and wealth, making it a good sign.” So, people born under these signs with the associated planets are known to portray the actions and emotions associated with it.
