Be able to write the detailed mechanism of any of the reactions discussed in lecture and any of the reactions whose detailed mechanism is shown in your textbook, unless specifically told otherwise in lecture. 2. Be able to use the reactions that you have learned this semester, as well as the important ones from last semester, to do synthesis of aliphatic and aromatic compounds. 3. Understand the stereochemistry and regiochemistry of the reactions presented this semester and be able to predict their products. 4. Understand and be able to predict and rationalize the products of kinetic and thermodynamic control for the reactions in which it is relevant.
