#5 – Yes Copernicus’ heliocentric model was significantly convincing, it was just not accepted. His use of geometry and the angles between other planets and the sun to determine that the planets were at different distances from the sun. From this he was able to conclude that these constant movements proved that the planets were not uniformly moving around the earth but rather the sun. These facts came from observation of natural movement which is a perfectly acceptable proof as long as it can be constantly proven.
