June 8, 2009 ESS 131 Perm# Journal Response Throughout this quarter, preparing journal responses has helped me to realize that when I successfully complete my workout, I am able to tackle daily challenges easier. My activity that I chose to monitor and keep a diary about this quarter was the stairmaster. After thinking about which activity I wanted to keep track of, I realized that since I do the stairmaster multiple times per week and it is my main method of cardiovascular fitness it only seemed logical. Chronicling how I felt many times a week allowed me to take a step back and overlook my past workouts and see if a better workout necessarily leads to a more successful day. While looking over the journal entries for the prior couple of months I noticed many correlations. One such correlation is that I was able to do the stairmaster and maintain a constant speed better if I had a better nights rest the night before as well as a meal a couple of hours earlier.
