Make an outline Have a strong thesis about why the play was good or bad Follow pie paragraph format Always give the name of the playwright and the name of the director Always use present tense verbs Use academic speech.. Don’t say anything like cool, awesome, really bad Always underline the names of plays If you talk about a character, you must give the actors name If you talk about design, you muyst give the designers name DO NOT GIVE a speech about the plot Only need to use 2 elements. Cannot pad the essay with repetitive verse in different elements. Reviews are due at the discussion group time! Rest is in the syllabus Notes 1/27 Takes over a year to do a production Prior to week one, you have to consider your show selection (1 year) o Usually a large age based audience o Type of show.. how many people are involved o University gives $1,000. But the box office makes the rest o Which theatre is it going to be preformed in o Who are we going to hire Week 1 o Auditions and the designs completed. The scenic designs are all finished
