He lives with his father and has a far from normal life. He was told that his mother died from a heart attack by this father and he has always accepted it. However, there are things in Christopher’s world that he doesn't accept. He will not eat yellow or brown foods because he doesn't like those colors. He won't eat anything that has touched each otheron the same plate. He also decides on how his day is going to be by the amount of yellow and red cars he sees on the way to school in the morning. Everything in Christopher's life was content and moderately happy until the death of Mrs. Shear’s dog, Wellington. One afternoon, he sees Wellington with a garden fork through his chest in Mrs. Shear’s front garden.
