From prowler website which evaluates universities based on bunch of information such as housing, dining, security, nightlife, drug uses, facilities, etc…… The cafeterias on campus are located in the residence halls. If you live there, you must have a meal plan, but anyone can buy one if they want. The cafeteria food is okay, with quite a bit of repetition that gets old fast to the students at Utah. The ability to transfer meals with your food plan is a nice option, though, because you don’t have to eat every meal in the dorms. There are two other options instead of the cafeterias, and they are the food court/restaurant-style eateries. One is located in the business building, and the other is in the Huntsman Cancer Institute, the Point. (For more information on the Point, see the off-campus restaurants section.) The cafeteria at the Union Building is mediocre, but there’s a Chick-fill-A and a Pizza Hut there, as well as options for vegetarians. Lots of people eat there because of its central location.
