Madison Democracy I am in agreement with Madison’s Federalists # 10 what was good then and not as good for today. Our economy and times have changed where in earlier times, wealthy landowners had control and their opinions became law. There are two groups in American culture: those who have it and those who don't. None of the leaders have tried to take away the beliefs of the people. When factions try to make things happen in the government, their opinion is not one of the whole groups. However, I do think that our republic has gotten too big. Each of us has become so diluted that we often are not heard at all. Another point to ponder is the example of how the State of California has factioned toward the use of medical cannabis. The Federal government holds law against the use of this drug and the State has accepted it as beneficial to use in a regulated way. It is in situations like this that the scales may tip. The integrity of the Federal system is being checked and depending how many people feel strongly about
