Studying for Dr. Herrera’s BISC 220 Exams (Short Version) - See also the long version of this document - On Your Own Before Class • Read entire chapter superficially, to familiarize yourself with the topic During Class • Show up in person • Take notes on the PowerPoint slides leaving gaps when necessary to fill in later • Ask questions during lecture if you are confused Shortly after Class (within 24 hours) • Fill in gaps in notes using video and audio recordings • Re-read the book – in detail – focus only on parts covered in lecture Other Suggestions Attend SI • You can get immediate feedback on how well you are studying on your own based on your understanding of the worksheets • Leaders have experience in this class Attend Q&A Sessions • Ask questions or just listen • View recordings if you can’t make it in person Form Study Groups • You strengthen your understanding by “teaching” another • Take advantage of listening to others explain
