SYSC 3600 – Assignment #2 1/. You will recall the following system from question 2 of assignment 1: (a) Remodel the system using state space techniques. Clearly identify your choice of state variables and don&t forget the output equation. (b) Put your equations into matrix form (give A , B , C , and D for the system). Be sure to make clear which of your state variables is x 0 and so on. 2/. Imagine a solenoid connected to a spring (as shown below). When voltage is applied to the solenoid, the solenoid compresses the spring. In practice the solenoid coil has both resistance and inductance. Also the moving portion of the solenoid has mass and there is some friction. Introducing these elements produces the system shown below.
