ATTENTION DEFICIT-HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD) (1) Inattention * Fails to pay attention to details * Difficulty sustaining attention * Not listening when spoken to * Not following instructions * Not completing tasks * Disorganized * Messy work (incl. handwriting) * Losing things for tasks * Easily distracted * Forgetful in daily activities * but also may be over-focused (“hyper-focused”) (2) Hyperactivity-Impulsivity Hyperactivity * Fidgeting with hands or feet * Squirming in seat * Runs/climbs about excessively * Has difficulty playing quietly * Always “on the go” * Often talks excessively Impulsivity * Often blurts out answers * Has difficulty awaiting turn * Interrupts or intrudes on others
