Preface This Test Bank is designed to accompany the sixth edition of Probability and Statistics for Engineering and the Sciences by Jay L. Devore. Throughout this Test Bank , I have attempted to provide a good mix of difficulty level versus question type. In its entirety, this Test Bank contains 430 fill-in-the blank questions, 430 multiple-choice questions, and 290 applied and computational questions, for a total of 1150 questions. If you have any comments, corrections, or suggestions, please communicate with me via e-mail at [email protected]. In producing statistics exams, I try to satisfy several goals. These are: 1. Clearly differentiate between students of different ability. 2. Test several different aspects of the material covered. 3. Require no memorization. 4. Make it easy to mark. With these goals in mind, this Test Bank is organized by section within each chapter and to some extent by the type of technique or concept. For each chapter, there are numerous fill-in-the-blank questions, multiple-choice questions, and applied and computational questions
