Exp#3.5: Data Analysis And Presentation (A Survivors Guide to Excel and Word) Those who do experiments actually spend a surprising amount of time on data analysis and presentation. This activity is important and time-consuming. The most common tools (even if not the best) are Excel and Word. This lab is designed to get everyone up to speed in some aspects of using these programs. It will be a guided and collaborative effort. If you know how to do these things already, then you are hereby elected as honorary-TA so you can help those who don’t. Share your knowledge and we will all learn something. The basic tricks for generating and manipulating columns of numbers will be illustrated by our favorite equation: () s in y tA t ω = (1.1) Exercise 1: Generate and plot eq.(1.1) Requires: Elementary layout and formatting considerations, specifying constants Generating the independent variable Absolute vs. relative cell reference Fill values, writing equations/formulae XY scatter plots, honest plotting
