(10pts) Chemoattraction enables species-specific fertilization in animals with external fertilization. An example of this would be sea urchins. Two examples of species-specific fertilization mechanisms would be the following: 1. Sperm that have a sense receptor, such as a specific enzyme, that would be able to break the outside layer or the egg. 2. Eggs could also have a receptor that sperm could be located with. Question 2: (14pts) What is the difference between induced and spontaneous ovulation? Induced ovulation with when an animal needs copulation or another source to reproduce. An example of this would be cat or dog. Spontaneous ovulation is when an animal in independent of copulation. An example of this would be a human. List costs (2) and benefits (2) of each strategy?
