1 Instructions for the LAMSON Aggregate Planning Game The purpose of this game is to: 1. Have fun, 2. Realize that real decisions are irreversible, 3. Learn, if time permits, something about production, inventories and costs. Instructions for the game 1. Read the case and the “Note on Aggregate Planning” carefully. You may also want to skim through CJA Chapter 14 pp. 558-576. 2. Key Decision You have to put yourself in the place of Mr. Marino and decide how many 18" and 36" tiles to produce in each period. You can only use the choices in Exhibit 2. 3. Strategy You have to decide on the strategy for planning production for the season ahead. Write down this strategy on the evaluation sheet provided. In determining this strategy, consider the following factors: costs, demand and production choices . These are discussed in detail below. 4. Costs In determining the strategy, you have to consider the impact of your production decisions on overtime costs, inventory carrying costs, stockout costs and the costs of ending
