Inertia When masses in gravity fields and charges in electric field are in a region of space where the fields are negligible (effectively zero), the mass or charges will follow Newton’s 1 st Law of Inertia. The will continue doing what they are doing If they start at rest they will remain at rest. The radial gravity field surrounding a planet is similar to the electric field near point charges. However, there are two types of charge.
