Lindsey Ducroz 21:10 The importance of internships Employers rate internships as the #1 most important criteria in the job  candidate selection process 74% of US employers hire interns throughout the year Students who intern, typically have a more realistic view of life after  graduation 51% of employers are now focusing on relevant internship experience to find  the best fit 81% of employers have found those with internships are better prepared than  those without Idea City has hired approx. 55 interns since 2005 UT Specifics 34% - one internship 33% - two 13% - 3+ 96% found helpful and 40% were offered a job where they interned Emphasis on Experience You have to have experience to gain experience Students are completing their degrees without completing their resumes, thus  making it difficult to compete in the entry-level workforce The result is that graduated more often take jobs outside their field of interest  and training for which many are overqualified.
