Charishma Alur Manuel Hernandez This building is conveying a pessimistic sense because the construction itself is very bare and only consists of poles and metal beams. It feels very depressing because there is no color other than shades of grey. None of the building’s beams or supporting structures are hidden out of sight, making the skeleton of the structure only visible without any aesthetic components. The ramps leading into the building aren’t very inviting. They look scary and bland because of its ridges and lengthiness. At night, this structure is dominating and intimidating. Clouds at night usually go without notice so it’s ironic how this cloud seems to be even scarier at night. I think by wearing those coats in order to go inside, it makes it look scary again due to the lack of color and how they all look like clones, adding to the daunting effect. This building is showing despair in a new, creative way. Usually clouds are associated with hopes and dreams, so it’s ironic that the building conveys the opposite meaning. I feel like the Blur building conveys both an optimistic and pessimistic feeling.
