The paper should be a short analytical “distillation” of the readings for that class period. This format will be discussed in greater detail at the beginning of the semester. Students will also write a substantial research paper on a particular case of insurgency- counterinsurgency. The paper is due at the last class meeting. This assignment will also be discussed at the beginning of the course. Materials Students should purchase the following books that are available in the college bookstore.
