1 PO 345 – Russian, East And Central European Politics Dr. Marni Berg Fall 2008 Clark C-332 491-3446 E-mail: jeffandmarni@msn.com or marni.berg@colostate.edu Office Hours: Mon. 10:00 – 11:00 am Wed. 1:00 – 2:00 pm And by appointment Course Objectives: The goal of this course is to develop a basic factual and theoretical knowledge of the political systems of Russia, East and Central European states. By the end of the course, students should be able to draw conclusions about the trajectory of political developments in the region. This course requires a strong commitment from the student, in terms of the student’s time and effort. We will be covering a lot of material in a short amount of time. Class lectures, discussions, and exams will be based on the assumption that you have read the assigned material. Required Texts: Hensel, Jana. 2005.
