New Jersey Politics Spring 2009 Mr. Zellner Background New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the nation and one of the most densely populated in the world. It’s leads the United States in a variety of other statistics including; ethnic diversity, income level, number of political subdivisions per square mile, number of school districts and preserved farm land per capita. New Jersey has skiing, beaches, whitewater rafting and some of the best hiking, biking and restaurants anywhere in the US. New Jersey is a living laboratory of how we as a nation have grown and developed. From the struggles for our freedom from foreign lands to our struggle from independence from foreign oil, New Jersey has or is leading our nation and the world alike. So how is it that a state so small has produced so many things? This class will aim to find out what it is about New Jersey and its politics that makes it a state of envy and of ridicule all at the same time. Course structure
