Humility is being able to tell yourself that youre wrong, that you are the one that has to change, not the people or surroundings around you. My mother and father havent always looked at humility as being one of the most important things any human can have, but after my dads addiction and him getting sober, they now both look at humility as being the one thing that can change lives; I am grateful to have learned that humility can change someones life. I watched my father drink himself away day after day. I watched my mother cry night after night. The day my father decided to get sober was the day that changed my life, along with my entire family. He went to an alcoholics anonymous meeting, and came home and read the Serenity Prayer to all of us; which I believe explains humility perfectly , O God and Heavenly Father, grant to us the serenity of mind to accept that which cannot be changed; courage to change that which can be changed, and...
