Introduction of Buddhism into China: o Came in with merchants along the Han trade routes. o First noticed in 1st c. A.D. as the religion of foreigners in China. o 1st ref. to Buddhism in China= emperor’s dream of a golden god o Began attracting Chinese after collapse of Han. 7. Trade routes come into Northern China: o Some Northern kings got interested in Buddhism (why?). o
