Soon after three eight-year-old boys were discovered mutilated and murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas, the local media declared the killers had been arrested. The police assured the community that the three teenagers under arrest were undeniably guilty for these horrendous murders. The West Memphis Three have been behind bars for 15 years for murders they did not carry out. Unjustifiably, Echols verdict was death, Baldwins verdict was life without parole, and Misskelleys verdict was life in addition to 40 years. A. Poor investigation of the crime scene 1. Crime scene not properly protected resulting in losing possible evidence. 2. After finding the first body, the crime scene was literally walked on, in particular the creek bed. 3.
