Chemicals Equipment 2.0 M HCl 2.0 M NaOH Distilled H 2 O Lab Pro Unit with temperature probe 2 Styrofoam cups Thermometer Stirring Rod Ring stand, clamps Graduated cylinder 150ml beaker Hazards and Safety MSDS Classification Chemical Name Health Flammability Reactivity Contact Comment Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) 3-Severe (Poison) 0-none 2-Moderate 3-Severe (Corrosive) Danger! It is a corrosive Can cause sever burns! Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) 3-Severe (poison) 0-none 2-Moderate 4-Extreme (Corrosive) Danger! This is a corrosive poison! Fatal is swallowed! Procedure Measuring the heat capacity of the calorimeter 1. Set up the machine with the Lab Pro unit. Use 2 Styrofoam cups, one inside the other and thermometer clamp to hold the temperature probe. 2.
