Anhropology chapter notesIntroduction and Chapter 1: Prevention Through DeterrenceIn this chapter Jason De Leon talks about the policies of crossing the southern US borders. He also talks about how that affect those individuals trying to cross the border in a physical and psychological ways. He interviewed many men and female who were trying to cross borders illegally. He talks that we don’t know why those people try to do it. 90% of female who are crossing the border suffered from sexual assault. The pictures of those people and their lives are also meaningful as they show the hidden part.In the first chapter of the book the main focus is the policy that United States Government adopted in order to reduce the high migration rates from Mexico. The author and his co-travellersencountered bones of dead human, called the police, but detectives were unmotivated to perform a large survey as the weather is too hot. Few people care about the illegal migrants and whether they die or not because they take their own risks. The PTD strategy enforced here literally allow
