2 Quizzes: Quizzes will be given in lecture everyday using an electronic response system (see clicker below). Therefore, you need to attend class and read the assigned material. Your 3 lowest quiz scores in lecture will be dropped at the end of the semester. Homework: Homework assignments will be done online at the following website: http://webassign.net/student.html In class I will tell you how to logon and get registered. Use the first part of your PAWS ID as the login ID and ‘hello’ as the password Example: asoka@lsu.eud ; login ID: asoka; password: hello If you purchase the textbook above, your Webassign code will come bundled with it. This is the best value. If you already have a book and need to purchase an access code separately from the bookstore, make sure you purchase one that allows access to Wiley Plus. It is essential that you solve the homework problems to ensure that you understand the concepts and to strengthen your math skills. Several of the exam problems will come from the assigned homework sets.

3 Personal Response System (Clickers): Wireless keypads (clickers) made by Responsive Innovations will be used everyday in lecture. If you do not already have this clicker for a different course or from last semester, you will be required to purchase one. You must register you clicker on PAWS during the first week of class. Enter the 6-digit code (below the barcode) off the back of the clicker. There are no capital “O’s” in the codes, only zeros.
