Christie Strawser Journal 8/14/2008 The person whose mood influences mine most directly is my husband’s. I think he may be one of those psychic vampires. Can they suck all of your energy out completely? I could be having a wonderful day and in the best of spirits and he will walk in from work, grumpy and rude, and my whole attitude is shattered. I become not only grumpy with him for being so grumpy, but I also become grumpy and depressed in general. I quickly lose motivation. It’s a very common occurrence that my husband is negative in general. I realize that my codependent tendencies play into how I feel that his feelings are a direct reflection of me. But even when I try to avoid him, or not let his mood affect me, it does. I’ve tried everything from ignoring him, realizing that he is not a negative person because of me, and avoiding him all together. But he can even get me going on the phone. If he calls and he is down, it immediately brings me down. I guess this is probably a situation where he needs some help (not that I don’t).
