Christie Strawser Date Submittal: 6/17/08 Headline News 9 Date Due: 6/17/08 Morgellon’s Disease The article I read was about a controversial disease called Morgellons. It is a “mysterious skin disorder characterized by disfiguring sores and crawling sensations on and under the skin.” It is often not recognized as a medical diagnosis. Experts form the CDC are investigation reports of this condition. Some health professionals believe that sings and symptoms of Morgellons disease are caused by another condition, often mental illness. However some helath care professionals do believe that Morgellons disease is a specific condition likely to be confirmed by future research. Primary symptoms of Morgellons disease include skin legions often accompanied by pain or intense itching. Fibers that are in and on the legions that may be red, white, blue or black in color, Crawling sensations under the skin, often compared to insects moving, stinging or biting, joint and muscle pain, severe fatigue, inability to concentrate,
