Christie Strawser Rough Draft Outline 11/27/07 Death Sentence for Doggie? I. How many of you have a dog at home? a. A big dog? b. Would you expect your dog to protect you if you were attacked? II. June 5th what happened a. 5 Gardeners showed up an hour early b. Mr. Guy asked them (in Spanish) to stay in their vehicle until he could put the dogs inside 1. There are 4 puppies and 2 adults c. Mrs. Guy pulled in the drive causing a commotion d. Enter dogs and Gardeners e. Gardener(42 year old Giovanni Rivera) uses woman as human shield(somehow fell to the ground, she screams) and the other tried to shoo the puppies away with metal rake, causing gashes on the puppies. f. 9 year -old son, Benjamin, runs to get dad. g. Congo attacks h. Mr. James comes out, calls dogs off, and Rivera is treated for bites at the local hospital. III. Court a. Gardener won 250,000 + medical costs from the family’s insurer b. Dogs are impounded, Congo is depressed, won’t eat unless hand fed.
