History of kickboxing By: Brandon .C Kickboxing started in America, during the 1970’s when People became angry at the strict rules of not being allowed To make full contact kicks or punches. So they came up with kick Boxing a sport were you could make full contact kicks and punches. Many questions were asked about the high risk of injury, as a result Safety rules were added, and gear was added too. Since kickboxing Was a relatively new sport it has no long-term traditions. Early Beginning of The Sport In the early beginnings of the sport one of the legends were Joe Lewis. In the beginning of the sport when they fought a Match they used only a mouth and a pair of gloves also warping Tape. Equipment Used In a kickboxing match they use only a mouthpiece and a pair of Boxing gloves, but in training they use head gear mouthpiece and A chest guard groin guard also gloves hand wrap and duck tape.
