Andrew Jackson believed himself to be the ultimate protector of democracy but is this true? When Jackson was campaigning for his presidency he told people he would listen and do their will. In my opinion I believe that Andrew Jackson is a protector of democracy because of what he had said in reference to South Carolina’s threat of secession and his message explaining his veto of the national bank.In Document C, Jackson explains why he had vetoed the National Bank. He had said that it ismaking the rich richer and the mighty more powerful and regular members of society have a right to complain because of this injustice of their government that was favoring the rich.
