Apple Case Study 2 The Apple case study is a history of the Apple Company. Steve Jobs and Steven Wozniak started the company with the Apple I computer in 1976. The company expanded with the introduction of the Macintosh in 1984. Apple continued to grow and followed up the Macintosh with the Mac II, the Powerbook, iMac, iPod and the iPhone and the iPad. Apple led the market until the mid-1980’s when IBM introduced to the public Gateway. Dell and HP soon followed suit with introductions of their product line. Apple continues to work on innovative products for their loyal consumer base. They have been able to main their success by understanding what the consumer wants before the consumer actually knows what they want. Apple’s current mission statement is " Apple designs Macs, the best personal computers in the world, along with OS X, iLife, iWork and professional software. Apple leads the digital music revolution with its iPods and iTunes online store. Apple has reinvented the mobile phone with its revolutionary iPhone and App store, and is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices with iPad." The current mission is different from Steve Jobs ideas of contributing to the world in advance of human kind.
