Andrea Silva Hernandez BIO 101-06 LAB Professor Mead 14 March 2019 CER Report- Diffusion and Osmosis Experiment #1-Diffusion Claim: Diffusion of food coloring occurs the fastest in the beaker containing the heated water because particles move faster in heated temperatures causing diffusion to occur at a faster rate, particles move faster on higher temperatures which causes the spreading of molecules from high to low concentration quicker. Evidence: In the data recorded the diffusion of food coloring into the water solution is recorded every half a minute. Hot, room temp, and cold beaker are at 0% diffusion at 0.0 minutes, at 0.5 minutes the hot beaker is at 40% diffusion, room temp is at 30% and the cold beaker is at 10%. The water in the cold beaker is already the the less diffused by the color solution. Jumping a minute and a half ahead at 2.5 minutes, all beaker are diffused at 70%. At 4.5-5.0 minutes the water in the hot beaker reaches 100% diffusion making it the fastest beaker to diffuse the food coloring.
