Culturally Inappropriate Leadership Behavior that might be CounterproductiveOn a national context, leadership works differently. There is a suggestion that managers should not assume that a leadership style or trait that worked well in a certain country will not necessarily work the same way in a different country. When leaders fail to put into consideration the local conditions, the said leadership styles will not work well in other cultural settings. Managers may fail in their international assignments due to a variety of reasons, the main one being that they fail to modify their styles of leadership according to the cultural settings involved. Adapting to various cultural backgrounds is harder than anticipated. It is especially harder if one does not have the proper cross-cultural awareness and training; leaders who are
