Haley WatsonPSY150A Personality Disorders and Emotional DysregulationThe psychological topic that I researched was borderline personality disorders and their correlation with emotional dysregulation. I was just generally interested in the topic of personality disorders and after doing some time researching the general topic I gravitated towards the articles that related to a link between borderline personality disorders and emotional dysregulation. The popular article I selected was by the Mental Health Weekly Digestand discussed the studies conducted by Duke University Medical Center regarding the relationship between difficulties with emotional regulation and borderline personality disorder symptoms. The studies concluded that “difficulties with emotion regulation may account for the types of interpersonal problems experienced by individuals with BPD and suggest further examination of the possibility that interpersonal dysfunction may worsen these individuals' difficulties with emotion regulation” (Mental Health Weekly Digest). The source was clearly a ‘popular source’
