Author and writer Nathaniel Hawthorne created a Gothic romance called theHouse of the Seven Gables; a story based on the effect of one man affects the next misfortunate generation. The house in the story represents the moral of injust, corruption of Colonel Pyncheon’s past actions; an inanimate object, presents as symbolism, which Mr. Hawthorne was famously known for in his literary work.
