Genocide. Examine the conditions which made genocide possible, as well as the role of instigators/leaders, perpetrators, bystanders, and victims of genocide. Choose one of the following.Identify other sources and information you still need to find.Describe the next steps towards completing your Final Project. For my final project I have decided on the topic Genocide and the Holocaust. I have always been fascinated with the Holocaust, not in a creepy way. I had the opportunity to visit the Holocaust Museum a few years ago in Washington D.C. and spent an entire day there and then some. Many have probably seen the image of all the shoes of Jews that were collected at a concentration camp. The image circulating on social media doesn’t do the actual visual justice. When you see the display in person, one can’t help, hurt for the people that suffered during this time period. I was in Germany a few years ago and regret not paying the money to travel to Amsterdam to see the Anne Frank Museum. I was very intrigued with this final project, especially since I am able to further study something that interests me greatly. In my research thus far on the topic I have seen that there has been much debate over if the Holocaust was in fact a genocide. It is most definitely agreed upon that it is a black time in history, however some scholars feel that when compared to other genocides that the Holocaust was not a genocide. I have not decided if I will create a PowerPoint or an illustrated essay. The three scholarly sources I have selected so far are both from academic journals. They are cited as follows:Nyseth Brehm, H. (2017). Re-examining risk factors of genocide.
