What was he prepared to do for slaves, and under what conditions?In 1862 Lincoln’s public position was what they called a middle of the road stance when it came to slavery. In other words, he was not on either side of slavery at that time but then he later was against slavery. He wanted to destroy slavery all together the conditions that he was under at that time when it came to slavery where that he could do what he wanted to do if it meant that the country would go to war with each other.
