John Kontogiannis 12, February 2008 English 103 Effects of Legalizing Marijuana My opinion on the issue of legalizing Marijuana is that it should most definitely be legalized for many reasons. If Marijuana was so bad, why did so many people use it in the sixties? Many people I know are users of Marijuana and they still function very well. However, on the other hand if people use it as it is going out of style then it can be a problem use with moderation should not be a problem. A few key reasons to legalizing Marijuana are it would eliminate organized crime, national debt would be eliminated, and for medical purposes. The legalization of Marijuana would eliminate illegal activity as well as organized crime. I am sure everybody has heard at one time or another about a very large drug bust in one’s hometown or neighborhood. Because, I surely have in my hometown of Chambersburg when a hometown hero was sentenced to twenty years in prison for being involved in a cocaine ring when he was in his mid twenties.
