Week #5 Chapter 4 deals with the concept of career management. The chapter also provides an overview of career stages. Based on the provision of the text, do you align with your career stage? Please provide examples. Career theorist Donald Super articulated a similar cycle to our careers in his life-span and life-cycle approach to career development. Super identified five stages and the types of tasks typically associated with each stage: Growth (fantasy, interests, and curiosity) Exploration (crystallizing, specifying, and implementing) Establishment (stabilising, consolidating, frustration, and advancing) Maintenance (holding, updating, stagnation, and innovating), Decline (decelerating, retirement planning, and retirement living) I could not locate any relevant material in Chapter 4 so I searched the book electronically and found Career Management in Appendix A.
