Plagiarism is a form of copying whetherit’s by accident or on purpose, and is considered to be a form of cheating by most schools anduniversities. Personally, I believe plagiarism is wrong because it’s stealing other’s work, butthere are “an enlarged range of definitions and motivations for plagiarism” and not all of themotivations are malicious or purposeful (Howard 789). A form of plagiarizing is “patchwriting”or “copying from a source text and then deleting some words” (Howard 788). This is somethingthat almost everyone is guilty of whether they mean to plagiarize or not, partly because it’s hardfor students create ideas completely on their own without using another source of information.There’s a variety of different reasons as to why someone would steal another author’s work and“some students don’t appreciate academic textual values and therefore deliberately submit workthat is not their own; others don’t understand academic citation conventions and therefore
